Add Delegations to a Section

Administrator access is required. Screens and labels may vary slightly as LocoDELEGATIONS is updated.

Administrator tutorial 6

Create and maintain delegations

Assign individual roles or reusable delegate groups, attach the supporting approval record, and verify the finished delegation.

Use the CC control in the video player to show or hide English captions.

Add delegations to one section

  1. Open Acts, select the relevant Act, and locate the section.
  2. Select Edit for that section.
  3. Under Appointed To, choose one of these methods:
    • Select a reusable group from Select Delegate Group, then select Add Group. Every role in that delegate group is added to the section.
    • Select an individual role from Select Delegate Role, then select Add New Delegate.
  4. Review each assignment. The issue date defaults to the current date. Use Edit beside a role if you need to record acting status, change the issue or review date, or adjust the sort order or hierarchy.
  5. Under Related Memos, select the council resolution, memo or other supporting approval record. More than one memo can be attached where required.
  6. Select Save.

After saving, check that the section shows the correct appointed roles and, where a memo has been attached, the correct resolution date and resolution number.

Assign a group or role to multiple sections

Use Bulk Assign from the Act details page when the same delegate group or individual role applies to several sections.

  1. Select the required sections using the checkboxes.
  2. Choose either a delegate group or an individual role.
  3. Select Assign Group or Assign Role.
  4. Open a sample of the affected sections and confirm the assignments before relying on the bulk change.

Good practice

Use delegate groups when the same set of roles is regularly assigned together. This reduces repetitive maintenance and helps keep assignments consistent when organisational roles change.
